Every fitness trainer knows that the two best exercises to add shape and tone to your upper body are push-ups and pull-ups.  These two exercise work all the major muscles of your upper body.  Your shoulders, chest, back, biceps triceps and forearms.  Unfortunately most women avoid pull-ups, because they are so hard to do.  But guess what, when you avoid pull-ups you neglect half your upper body.
Push-ups work your chest, shoulders and triceps.

Pull-ups target your back, biceps and forearms.
One exercise works one set of muscle – the other exercise works a completely different set of muscles.
What we’ve learned is that most women have already figured out that if you can’t do a full push-up, you can easily substitute ‘knee’ push-ups.  You’ll get the exact same benefits of regular pushups, and as you get stronger with knee pushups you can eventually work your way up to a regular pushup.
Unfortunately, there hasn’t really been an easy alternative for pull-ups, until I found this cool new fitness product called My Work Horse Fitness Trainer.  It’s essentially an alternative to pull-ups, the same way knee push-ups are to regular pushups.

These ‘inverted’ pull-ups as they are typically called, are an alternative for women who can’t do pull-ups.  They understand that if you neglect pull-ups – you neglect your back and biceps, which are prominent features of any girl wearing a sleeveless shirt, top or dress.

Inverted or modified pull-ups are a pretty simple exercise to do if you have the right equipment.  You will always see someone at the gym doing inverted pull-ups on a squat rack or Smith machine, but who has that type of equipment in their home.  This is why we think this portable pull-up bar, as the inventor, Dr. Len Lopez calls it, is a simple solution.  It provides an alternative or easier way for both women and men – who can’t do pull-ups, to be able to do them at home without the need of any expensive equipment.
As far as getting a good quick workout in 5 minutes.  Dr. Lopez shows on his website various workouts you can do with his Portable Pull-up bar.  You can focus on your upper body solely, or you can integrate other exercises such as: lunges, squats, crunches, jumping jacks, etc. to get a complete whole body workout.  The WorkHorse Fitness Trainer is simply filling a void that so many women who like to exercise at home have had, in that they couldn’t do pull-ups.  My understand is that there are also a good percentage of men who can’t do pull-ups either.

The last thing I will say is that I really like the fact that it is portable.  You can fold it up and set it up to do your workout anywhere.  You’re not confined to running to your closet or garage to do pull-ups.  If you want to take it outside, which I think is one of the best features, or grab a quick workout in front of your computer or television, you can.
If space is a problem in your home or apartment, this works really well.  You can fold it and store it against the wall or under your bed.  So if you are looking for a simple way to add shape and tone to your upper body, take a look at the WorkHorse Fitness Trainer.  I think it would be a great buy for anyone who likes to exercise at home and wants to get or stay in shape.
