 girls play ukulele

Ukulele is a musical instrument that belongs to the lute family and very close in appearance with the guitar. It is an instrument used from the ancient times and still very loved today. It usually comes in four nylon or gut strings or four courses of strings which may be paired to give a total of four or six strings. It is an instrument that originated from the Hawaiian adaptation of the Portuguese machete which is also guitar-like instrument. Ukulele which is also called Uke became popular in the United States in the 20th century and since has been widely used. It is made in different size and construction which makes the tone and volume differ as well. They are made in four sizes which include; Soprano, concert, tenor and baritone.  All the types are however very friendly to beginners but in other to be able to pick your choice as a beginner, you need to know some things about each of the four types.

Soprano Ukuleles

This is has the smallest size of the four with a very nice and classic sound expected from ukulele. It is very compact and this might be difficult for beginners or girls play ukulele because the smaller frets cannot be used without lots of practice. It might not be the best ukulele for beginners but smaller ukulele for kids are of the soprano type.

Concert Ukuleles

This is the most famous and popular ukulele size for beginners and girls playing ukulele. It is very easy to form chords on the concert ukulele because the fretboard is longer than that of soprano ukulele. The concert has a higher volume than the soprano type and gives a mid-range of tone that is also classic and suitable for your pop or rock songs.

Tenor Ukuleles

This is an expectedly bigger ukulele type with deeper tone, more volume and with more of tenor tone than the classic tone. It is another great choice for beginners and girls playing ukulele. This type is fast gaining fame and much recognition.

Baritone Ukulele

This is the biggest of all the ukulele types and with the deepest sound. The baritone is with also with different tuning from the rest ukuleles. The implication of the different tuning is that chords being played on the rest ukuleles cannot be directly played on the baritone ukulele. It must be noted that the baritone ukuleles are probably avoided by beginners and girls playing ukulele. It is very hard for the most determined of ukulele beginners to get things done or learn from the baritone ukulele because it is a rare type and you don’t get to easily find anyone to explain it to you.
